December Coffee Morning

Our next Coffee Morning will be on Friday 6th December.

Held in the church hall of St Mary’s on Church Street, Littlehampton,

starting 10.30 until approx 12 noon, fresh coffee, raffle and a speaker.

This month member Jackie Townsend will speak on her experience of Osteoporosis,

inviting discussion around this subject.

Followed by our usual ‘open forum’ for residents to discuss any issues they are interested in locally.

We are a non-political society, so will not be discussing the up-coming election!

On Sunday 18th August 2019, Littlehampton Harbour once again plays host to an annual event celebrating all things nautical.

“We aim to showcase as many of the different activities that take place on the river as possible in one day – including dinghy sailing, yachts, powerboats, paddleboarding, angling, RNLI lifeboats, jetskis, flyboards and hovercraft to name a few. Several exciting visiting and resident vessels will also be open for tours on Town Quay.”

This is a really exciting day for residents and visitors alike! Littlehampton Civic Society will be supporting this event with a stall, where you can find out all about our current projects.

Now in its 7th year, the Love Festival offers the community of Littlehampton a chance to share in the musical and artistic talents of South coast performers and artists. Poi Passion Circus will be hosting a free all day workshop on Circus Skills for children of all ages. LOCA will also be hosting a free art ‘chillax’ area for children of all ages. The community stall area offers visitors the opportunity to learn about and meet the local services, clubs, organisations and charities available within the Littlehampton area. There will be a food gallery on site that will cater for all dietary needs and toilets and disabled toilets will be available throughout the day.

We will be hosting a stall on the day so come along and have a chat!

Our speaker for our August coffee morning will be Fiona May from AGE UK. I’m sure this will be a great opportunity to hear all about the work this important charity does in supporting older members of our community.

So please come along and say hello! It is a great chance to see what the Civic Society is all about.

We will also be launching our annual magazine, jammed packed with articles on heritage, conservation, culture and community.

So fingers crossed for the sunshine!

Coffee Morning – Paul Sanderson

Our speaker on the 1st November will be Paul Sanderson, the Chaplain of the Littlehampton Academy.

On the first Friday of each month (except May/Bank Holidays), the Society holds a Coffee Morning at St Mary’s Church Hall, Church Street from 10:30. These meetings are an open forum to discuss current local issues followed by a raffle and then a guest speaker addresses members and friends on a subject of particular interest.

In addition to Coffee Mornings, the Society holds other Public Meetings jointly with local Groups depending on the issues important to our Town that relate to our core concerns.
