How to Object
The Planning Inspectorate needs to be aware of those who seriously care about the area and wish to comment on the commercial preferences of the developer – this is your right to do so.
To Register your Interest is therefore crucial. The application has now been submitted,as of 10 August 2023. The Planning Inspectorate now takes over and has 28 days to decide whether the developer’s application meets standards required to proceed to examination, including whether the developer’s consultation was adequate. If you had experiences during the consultation you wish to share with your council, now is the time to do so.
If accepted for examination as a Nationally Significant Infrastructure Project (or NSIP) the planning process is collapsed to 12 months as opposed to years for projects considered normally by local planning authorities under the National Policy Planning Framework.
